To celebrate the unique cinema talent that was David Lynch, The Nickel is proud to present a screening of Lynch’s 1990 Cannes Film Festival winner.
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT AND THERE IS A REPEAT SCREENING THURSDAY FEB 27th
Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern play Sailor and Lula, who are in love. Lula’s mother is less than happy, as Sailor has just left jail. When the pair decide to escape to California, breaking Sailor’s probation, Lula’s mother sends two of her ex-lovers to hunt him down. Lynch turns the classic road movie to his own surreal style, painting a picture of America that is violent and ugly, but where no-one really cares. The young lovers may not be perfect, but is what they are escaping from any better?
Screening from the The Cinema Museum’s 35mm print, with added extras.
Doors open at 18.30, for a 19.30 start. Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
