A rare chance to see George A. Romero’s classic zombie movie from an original 1968 35mm release print.
Romero co-wrote the film with John A. Russo, loosely based on Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel I Am Legend. It was followed by another five zombie movies, all directed by Romero, and is generally regarded as the beginning of a new era in horror films, inspiring the likes of John Carpenter, Sam Raimi and others.
An assortment of people flee a group of marauding flesh-eating undead monsters, and become holed up in an isolated farmhouse, barricading themselves in and fighting off the advancing horde with a single shotgun. “If you want to see what turns a B movie into a classic … don’t miss Night of the Living Dead. It is unthinkable for anyone seriously interested in horror movies not to see it” (critic Rex Reed).
Doors open at 18.30, for a 19.30 start.
Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
