In what has become a sell-out bi-annual treat for devotees of the Best of British Comedy, in general, and the Carry Ons, in particular, Britain’s Comedy Historian Robert Ross hosts another full day of hilarious anecdotes, rare clips from the vaults, and a roll-call of very special guests. And Gemma Ross, co-author of best-selling book The Carry On Girls, will be on hand to keep the fun forever flowing. Robert and Gemma will also be happy to sign any of their books you bring along to the day, as part of your ticket price.

Our confirmed guests this time include:

  • Dave Ainsworth: Actor and author, Dave will be signing copies of his Charles Hawtrey play, Oh Hello!, and treating us to a brief extract in performance.
  • Scott Brooker: Puppet designer for The Harry Hill Movie, Horrible Histories, Spitting Image. Signing an exclusive Hattie Jacques lithograph from Steve Nallon’s Ghost Stories.
  • Judy Buxton: All-Star Christmas Carnival, ‘Allo ‘Allo, The Bawdy Adventures of Tom Jones, A Little Bit of Wisdom, and as Ruth Carpenter in On the Up with Dennis Waterman and Joan Sims.
  • George Camiller: The Apple Cart, Duty Free, Minder, Giovanni Capello in Mind Your Language. George will be chatting in celebration of unsung Carry On writer Vince Powell.
  • Carol Cleveland: Often called the Seventh Python, Carol starred with the Monty Python team on television, stage, and film. She will be signing her memoirs Pom-Poms Up!
  • Laura Collins: Carry On Matron, and with many years in and around Pinewood Studios, Laura has also worked with such comedy greats as Les Dawson, Arthur Lowe, and Alastair Sim.
  • Anita Harris: Follow That Camel, Carry On Doctor, David Nixon’s Magic Box, The Dick Emery Show, French & Saunders, Morecambe & Wise, Peter Pan, Scott On…
  • Jeffrey Holland: Are You Being Served?, Dad’s Army, Goon Again, Hi-de-Hi!, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, Oh, Doctor Beeching, Run For Your Wife, You Rang, M’Lord?
  • Roger Ley: Author and adventurer who, as a thirteen-year old, worked as a stand-in opposite Tony Hancock on The Punch & Judy Man. Roger will be signing his memoirs and other books.
  • Charles Marriott: Assistant Director on Carry On Behind, Candleshoe, Dragonslayer, Slade in Flames, Space 1999, Stardust, Superman, Tommy, Yanks, Yentl.
  • Andy Merriman: who will be signing copies of his acclaimed biographies on Hattie Jacques and Margaret Rutherford, as well as celebrating the work of his writer father Eric Merriman.
  • Georgina Moon: Carry On Camping, Carry On Behind, Bless This House, Galton & Simpson’s Clochemerle, Erotica in Talbot Rothwell’s Up Pompeii with Frankie Howerd.
  • Steve Nallon: The New Statesman, Spitting Image. Steve will be reading an exclusive extract from his Carry On-themed Ghost Story for Christmas.
  • Terry Pearce: Bless This House, Carry On Henry, Carry On At Your Convenience, Carry On Abroad, Carry On Behind, who will be sharing very rare footage from the studio floor.
  • James Pertwee: Carry On Columbus, ‘Allo, ‘Allo, Oh Doctor Beeching!, Wife Begins at Forty. James will also be sharing stories of his actor father Bill Pertwee.

With more guests to be announced. All guests appear subject to other work & family commitments.

Throughout the day there will be ample opportunity to purchase signed photographs, grab a happy snap with your favourite star, and mingle with our celebrities in a relaxed and informal setting.

During stage breaks, Mrs. Fiona Everett will entertain us on the piano forte with a selection of Carry On tunes, music-hall songs, and Christmas Carols. Free feel to singalong!

And throughout the day, there will be a seasonal smattering of very rare comedy clips, as well as a complete Christmas episode, not commercially available anywhere in the world.

So Carry On, you know it makes sense.

Carry On Up the Cinema Museum VII is coming on Saturday, 3rd May 2025.

Rare film posters, cinema books, and other collectibles will be on sale. All monies go to the support and continuation of the unique palace of celluloid dreams that is The Cinema Museum.

Refreshments will be available in our licensed bar/cafe, with a selection of snacks on offer.
