Gramophone, the classical music review magazine, has produced a special edition celebrating almost a century of music for the movies.
Opening with a new interview with the composer John Williams, Gramophone Presents… Film Music then draws together some of the most perceptive pieces, both recent and more historic, from our archives.
Composers and topics covered include Philip Glass, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, John Barry and William Walton, as well as Carl Davis’s scores for Buster Keaton’s silent movies and pianist Lang Lang’s celebration of Disney classics.
