Every year, the Pordenone Silent Film Festival assigns an international prize, the Jean Mitry Award, to individuals and institutions who have distinguished themselves in the work of recovering and enhancing film heritage. This year, one of the awards was given to Ronald Grant and Martin Humphries of The Cinema Museum.
An award was also given to Japanese Archivist and Scholar Kae Ishihara, and presentations were also made in person to last years’s winners, Hungarian historian and archivist Vera Gyürey and American independent scholar J.B. Kaufman. Ronald accepted the award on behalf of the pair at the end of the ceremony (at 27 mins into the recording).
