The theme this season is the ‘The Cinema of Resistance’.
Un héros très discret (A Self Made Hero) is a 1996 French film directed by Jacques Audiard. It is based on the novel by Jean-François Deniau.
Albert Dehousse has grown up on heroic novels. Unfortunately his life isn’t quite so exciting. Albert lives quietly with his mother, who claims that his father died a hero in the First World War. Discovering that all is not as it seems, he leaves home and heads to Paris and the Resistance, where he passes himself off as a hero, despite his sheltered life.
A themed talk from Jon Davies will precede the screening.
Doors open at 13.30, for a 14.30 start.
Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
