A Kickstarter campaign has been started by Ben Smith to republished Minnie Flynn, a novel by double Academy Award-winner Frances Marion. She was a script writer in both the silent era, producing scripts for Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford amongst others, and the talkies, winning Oscars for The Big House (1930) and The Champ (1931). In 1925, she published Minnie Flynn, recounting the rise of a star from the alleyways of midtown Manhattan, through extra work in the original movie heartland of New York to dominance in Hollywood, before her downfall.
Unseen since the Twenties, this book will be republished if sufficient backing can be found. Read more about the book and its author here and support the Kickstarter campaign here.
