Film and TV actress Mary Peach started her career in Room at the Top in 1959, winning the Best Newcomer BAFTA for her role in this British classic. She went on to star in numerous 1960s films before appearing with Ian McShane in the biopic Disraeli in 1978. Mary was married to the late Hammer Horror screenwriter and director Jimmy Sangster until his death in 2011.
