Some new kind of kick presents Scorpio Rising (1964) and Psychomania (1973)

Fri 25 Oct 2024 @ 19:30 · Events

Scorpio RisingSome new kind of kick – celluloid rock n roll trash on a Friday night.

We’re excited to be able to show Kenneth Anger’s controversial short: the film “they” tried to ban for showing a penis and the American Nazi party. Ken was inspired by bikers and homosexuality in London at the same time as The Leather Boys but goes somewhere very different with that inspiration, and setes it all to a fantastic doo wop soundtrack.

Psychomania is a perfectly normal Rocker biker gang movie …. erm except for the whole suicide to return from the dead motif. Beryl Reid is a Satanist clairvoyant, and George Sanders in his last role is supercilious till the end.

Plus one or two other shorts from the Cinema Museum’s fantastic film archive.

Digital Presentations.

Doors open at 18.30, for a 19.30 start.

Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
