The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the DesertThe Cinema Museum is celebrating PRIDE with a special 30th anniversary screening of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994).

Writer/director Stephan Elliott’s wonderful film is a three fishes out of water story that’s one of the wildest films ever made. Drag queen “Tick” Belrose (Hugo Weaving) persuades recently bereaved transgender woman Bernadette Bassenger (Terence Stamp) and cocky younger drag queen Adam Whitely (Guy Pearce) to join him on a cross country journey to perform their drag act in an Alice Springs hotel, managed by his estranged wife. Their mode of transport is an old tour bus, christened by them “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”.

If you come dressed as one of the three central characters your ticket money will be donated to an LGBTQ+ charity of your choice.

Doors open at 18.30, for a 19.30 start.

Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
