Sleep, My Love (1948), directed by Douglas Sirk, and starring Claudette Colbert, Robert Cummings and Don Ameche.
One of a number of films noir that Douglas Sirk in the late 1940s, Sleep, My Love features Claudette Colbert as a wealthy woman, who suffers from sleep walking and memory lapses, whose husband plans to get her to commit suicide, and inherit her money.
“This is a fine thriller in the Gaslight mould, with Colbert’s demise being planned by her apparently loving husband Ameche. From the opening moments aboard a train rushing through the night, the tension is kept up by taut pacing and Joseph Valentine’s expressionist photography” (Time Out).
The film was produced by Mary Pickford, her first film activity in 12 years.
