You are invited to an intimate fundraiser screening of Paddington (2014) to support creatives living and working in Ukraine, hosted by The Writers Guild of Great Britain and supported by STUDIOCANAL, Heyday Films, The Cinema Museum and Paul King.
A young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kind Brown family, who read the label around his neck (‘Please look after this bear. Thank you.’) and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.
The screening, which will be introduced by Paul King (writer and director of Paddington and Paddington 2), will be in Ukrainian with English subtitles and features the voice of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This screening is a chance for us to come together and support our fellow creatives in need. All money raised will go to The International Coalition for Filmmakers at Risk’s Emergency Fund for Filmmakers, a fund for film practitioners directly in danger due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Doors will be open at 18.30. The film will begin at 19.30 following an introduction from Paul King.
If you are unable to attend the screening please do consider making a donation in the ‘tickets’ section.
