Kennington Talkies continues the Kay Francis season with Confession, a 1937 drama, directed by Joe May and co-starring Ian Hunter, Basil Rathbone and Jane Bryan.
The film is a scene-for-scene remake of the German film Mazurka (1935), starring Pola Negri. Warner Brothers Studios had acquired the U.S. distribution rights for this, but then shelved in favour of a remake.
Francis plays a cabaret singer who murders a respectable composer (Rathbone). During the subsequent trial, she reveals their complicated history.
