This year’s Wotever DIY Film Festival was bigger, better and more fabulous than ever before – filmmakers, audience members, supporters, queer film festival programmers and volunteers travelled from all over the world to attend and be part of this beautiful event. We saw old friends and made new ones. We claimed a queer space in the iconic Cinema Museum and formed an important part of the queer film festival network. We showed queer, DIY film from almost 100 filmmakers from every part of the globe and took part in important dialogues and discussions. A huge, everlasting queer thank you to:
- Our wonderful team of volunteers and flyering team who worked so hard before and after the festival: Hanna, Gabby, Sabi, Kyle, Olivia, Lysander, Joe, Vicki, Adria, Natasha and Baharak
- Our brilliant sponsors, many of whom have now supported us for three years: Planet London, Looking at You Productions, Galop, Gendered Intelligence and Feral Equipment and Athena (laptop donation)
- Our amazing venue, the Cinema Museum, all their volunteers and in particular Martin, Ronald and Dave
- The Kickstarter supporters without whom we couldn’t have done this: Krissy, Sophie, Moneka, Puja, Jo, Manuela, Will, Ceri, Jules, Janet, Carina, Chip, Hollie, Simon, Llinos, Thomas, Nataly, Jessica, Beth, Stephen, Carol, Feasible Joint, Inouwa, Through the Lens of Hip Hop Women
- All of our filmmakers, of whom there are over 90, and who honoured us with their inspiring work.
- To those involved in our special screenings: Glitch (Digital Desperados), Bev Zalcock and Sara Chambers, Krissy Mahan and Val Phoenix
- To every person who bought a ticket, attended screenings and supported the festival event
- And of course to the inimitable WDIYFF 2015 team: SA, Dru, Jo, Jay, Glenn, Rob, Tristan, Kay, Tara, Stephanie and Theresa
- And to Ingo always.
Keep watching this space – we’ll be back on it after a much-deserved rest devising new ways to bring queer, DIY film to the universe and beyond.
