The Kennington Bioscope is a regular cinema event that takes place at the Cinema Museum.

True Heart SusieThe main feature will be True Heart Susie (1919), directed by D.W Griffith and starring Lillian Gish.

Susie, a plain young country girl (Lillian Gish), secretly loves her neighbour, William Jenkins (Robert Harron). She believes in him and makes many sacrifices to enable him to go to theological college, all without his knowledge. He becomes a minister and marries “Betty” Hopkins (Clarine Seymour). She soon tires of her boring life with him, and he too becomes disillusioned with the marriage. Susie, meanwhile, realizes that through her own efforts she has made him inaccessible to her.

Piano accompaniment by John Sweeney.

The rest of the programme will be made up of other silent shorts, also with live piano accompaniment.
