Since the success of The Plague, a no-budget feature made when he was only 22, Greg Hall has earned considerable praise for his unpolished dramas about crime and struggle in the underbelly of Britain. Communion tells the story of Father Clemence, a vicar who abandons his flock, sheds his robes and takes to the road on a hunt for revenge. Along the way he collects Mexican punk Marie, and the two form an uneasy allegiance.
Greg Hall will be at the Museum to answer questions about the film and about his company Broke But Making Films, which has produced all his features to date with little-to-no budget. Communion was made possible by the crowdfunding website Sponsume.com, where the budget was raised through advance DVD sales. This will be a fascinating event for anyone wishing to know more about the cutting-edge of ‘Guerrilla Cinema’.
Doors open at 18.30 for 19.30 start.
Refreshments will be available in our licenced cafe/bar.
