Bird Radio gives a special performance to celebrate the launch of his debut album The Boy and the Audience on SFE/Cherry Red Records.
The performance will feature Othon on piano.
Signed CDs will be available to purchase for the special price of £10.
Doors open at 19.00 for 20.00 start. Wine, real ale and food available will be on sale from the licensed cafe/bar.
Bird Radio has been described on different occasions as “A mix of old testament preacher and Captain Beefheart …” (jazzman.com), “a flute-toting, bass drum-beating sensation …” (Rick Pearson, Evening Standard) and “… future medieval, as if J.G. Bird Radio has performed at over 100 venues, nationally and internationally, including Purcell Room, Cafe Oto, Tate Britain, Whitechapel Gallery, Union Chapel, Cecil Sharp House, Purcell Room, The ‘Pataphysical Museum, Secret Garden Party, NOVA Festival, SOFAR living room concerts (London, Berlin and New York), The Horse Hospital and venues in America, Canada, Germany, Greece, France and Italy.
He has composed music for experimental films such as Chiara Ambrosio’s feature La Frequenza Fantasma and Victoria Van Patten’s The Consequence, has been a featured artist on BBC radio and Irwin Chusid’s WFMU show, New York, received the “Knap O Howar” festival award from the islanders of Papa Westay, Orkney, in 2012 and will release his first studio album The Boy and the Audience produced by Rick Campion and mastered by legend Jon Astley along with the trilogy of short films Time to Go in October with SFE/Cherry Red Records.
