From Fred Astaire to The Lord of the Rings, a mixture of familiar and not so familiar songs performed by renowned vocalist Jenny Howe and backed by her Tinseltown band, featuring new arrangements by saxophonist Duncan Lamont Jnr.

As a woodwind player Duncan Lamont Jnr has worked extensively in the West End, most recently in the orchestra for the hit show Chicago. He has backed many well known singers, including Amy Winehouse, Natalie Cole, Barry White and Johnny Mathis, and worked for many years as part of Dame Shirley Bassey’s orchestra. His most recent work as a composer includes a one-woman adaptation of Chocolat for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a short film starring Virginia McKenna called What Do You See?
TV and film credits include the Judi Dench/Kate Winslet movie Iris, Ian McKellen’s Richard III, BBC1’s Only Fools and Horses and Eastenders, Humphrey (CBeebies) and the recent revival of Yes, Prime Minister (Gold). Duncan performed in several series of BBC Radio 2’s Live from the Stables with the late Sir John Dankworth’s band and has also played with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, BBC Big Band, Mike Westbrook band and the BBC Concert Orchestra playing baritone sax and kazoo! As an arranger he has written for BBC programmes Over Here, Andrew Marr’s History Of Modern Britain and the ever popular Strictly Come Dancing.
Jenny Howe joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra as a vocalist in 1992 and toured extensively with them in the UK and abroad, appearing several times at Ronnie Scott’s and was featured on many of their albums, including Cottoning On, In Control and A View From The Hill. She appears on a singers’ compilation album Nite at Ronnie’s, and through this worked with Shakatak, touring Japan with them.
More recently Jenny was the featured solo singer on the soundtrack for the film The Brylcreem Boys, performing the title track at the Cannes film festival. She is also featured on the films Dream, Hot Gold and James Ellroy’s L.A. Sheriff’s Homicide. She has co-written and sung on several tracks with the dance group Playpen, and she has just recorded “Heaven And Earth”, which is featured on the Shutupandance label. She recently recorded an album Second Take with pianist/composer Chris Lee, featuring revoiced arrangements of songs from artists such as Bob Dylan and The Beatles.
