Award-winning costume designer, Julie Harris, talks to BFI fiction curator Jo Botting about a glittering career that began in 1947 at Gainsborough Films and continued until her retirement in 1991. Julie worked on over seventy films and won an Oscar for Darling and a BAFTA for The Wrong Box. Other successes included Help!, Casino Royale, The Slipper and the Rose, Swiss Family Robinson, A Hard Day’s Night, Carry on Cleo, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, Live and Let Die, and The Great Muppet Caper.
Julie will be joined by actress Nanette Newman to make a brief appeal and collection on behalf of their favourite charity Help for Heroes.
